There are a few good reasons to keep your tank properly maintained every 3-5 years. The main reason to pump your tank is to remove all of the solids at the bottom of the tank, and removing the floating scum layer. If the Solids build up to much they will begin to leave your tank. Clogging and filling your field lines with sludge. This can cause your system to backup into your house, and field line failure.
While we are servicing your system we will do a visual inspection. We will look for a failed or deteriorated outlet baffle. Condition of the septic tank lids. Damaged or missing outlet filter along with any root intrusion.
Depending on the age of your system you will have a filter in the outlet baffle. This could be causing backups in the house or slow draining.
A missing or damaged outlet baffle will allow anything floating to leave the tank. Clogging and leading to a field line failure.
